Blogging has somehow become a part of a daily routine these days--the moment I decided to take a break, give more time for my own self--and yeah indulge in something #productive.
Been a voracious reader, and never been able to share a wide berth to books, I am invariably hooked to this idea of penning down little thoughts I congregate throughout the day.
Just before scribbling this li'l piece in here, I just managed to pen down my first Answer for Quora. these days, I am finding it quite intriguing. Thanks to one of my friend Sankalp, who made be harvest on this idea of writing answers and asking questions on Quora.com---and I guess now I have really started clamping with it a lot.
Just chanced upon an interesting question (boring for many)--What role Body hairs do.. Well the normal psyche would hover round thermoregulation--which is definitely a cardinally indispensable obligation on its part.
But why not make it more interesting.. Yeah !
So lets have a look at the points--
If we deal with Humans, we first need to consider their position wrt their preceding ancestors. Chimpanzees are considered to be the closest line on the Biological tree where from Human have undergone Evolution.
--As we see the line of Evolution, theres a generalized trend of lessening of body hairs.
Hairs form a part of the Integumentary system, which are responsible for the general defense system of the body. As we see the transition with lessening of body hairs which has been attributed to the better adaptation theories of Human

- Again to begin with the human body, the presence of the MAx count of hairs are on the Head, which obviates its function in head is one of the main parts of your body that's consistently exposed to the Sun.---That means there's a greater amount of heat and radiation that reaches it directly.
- Now coming down, we encounter the first major difference in the genders--while men have copious amounts of hair on their faces, women do not have 'em (sometimes "at all")--this is attributed to the difference of the Testosterone levels, a contributory factor for the development of hairs--
- we might notice some women having more facial hair than expected, which in Biological terms is called Hirsutism, which is due to the imbalance of hormones during Puberty, or having an excess of Androgens (other causes been are polycystic ovaries and less often, congenital adrenal hyperplasia.)
- As humans evolved, the overall amount of human body hair diminished. As that happened, humans with less body hair probably became more capable of survival, which, in turn, made it a desirable trait
- the main function for these body hairs is temperature regulation , and also sex selection (discussed later)--thus the balance of temperature is always maintained with thermoregulation or sweating which otherwise would have been proved disastrous even with 5 degrees rise of body temperature.
- Other protective functions are which are played by the ---cilia do for the nose, and brows and lashes do for the eyes.
- People often wonder for the presence of armpit hairs--the reason is simple: These soft and sensitive parts are always subjected to friction, as the hands lie close to the torso.--And armpit hair is thought to act as a barrier against such rashes and irritation.
- And now the Pubic or genital hairs perform the same role as a blanket against friction to protect these over-sensitive parts from any external damage.-
- Regarding the Sex selection part and the role of hairs in 'em--well, body hair can also play a role in sexual attraction. Biologically, the areas of thicker hair on humans' underarms and genitals are probably related to sexual selection. Both of those areas are sites of scent-releasing organs called apocrine glands. The odorous chemicals that the glands emit are unique to every person and may help attract members of the opposite sex, like pheromones in other animals. The hair in those areas traps and amplifies those odors, like loudspeakers that amplify your body's chemical siren song of attraction ..This is just a biological perspective; We anyways wont Like arrggghh-smelling partners.. :Lol :p
hey... even I want to be an efficient writer like you. Could you help me out?
